Hebel – הָ֫בֶל: vapor, breath – 1892

Original Word:  הָ֫בֶלַ – Part of Speech: Noun Masculine
Transliteration: hebel – Phonetic Spelling: (heh’bel) – Short Definition: vanity

When I study any book in the Bible, I usually review relevant aspects including words. In Ecclesiastes, Hebel is essential to the text. In looking at the occurrences of Hebel – הָ֫בֶלַ – through the Tanak, Old Testament, I have made seven groups of meaning.

Below are the occurrences of hebel through the Bible. Here I start with occurrences in Ecclesiastes. From Ecclesiastes I list occurrences in similar wisdom books, Psalms, the prophets, and ending with the remaining occurrences. These are the lists I put together for my study.
