I do not pray that you may be delivered from your pains; but I pray earnestly that God gives you strength and patience to bear them as long as He pleases. Comfort yourself with Him who holds you fastened to the cross. He will loose you when He thinks fit.

We might accustom ourselves to a continual conversation with Him with freedom and in simplicity. We need only to recognize God intimately present with us and address ourselves to Him every moment.

God is present with us in affliction. He softens the heart. He grows mercy. He gives empathy. He empowers us to do as we see Him do.

My Soul Has Become Troubled
I am encouraged that, “My soul has become troubled,” is not unique to my self only, voicing some difference alienating me. Trouble is common to all humanity, and in humanity, these words, “My soul has become troubled”, were uttered by Christ.
